Andrew Megginson joined the Brill Physical Therapy team in 2012, since joining us Andrew has proven to be a Team leader. Andrew received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Upon arriving in New York, he certified as a practitioner of the Trager Approach to Psychophysical Integration which he found to be a very relaxing and effective technique for uncovering and relieving pain from poor movement habits. He also studied and taught Pilates for two years under Lana Halvorsen in Brooklyn. Since receiving his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College, Andrew has working in outpatient offices that specialize in the treatment of dance injuries.
In he continuing stud of physical therapy, Andrew has developed his manual techniques and honed his clinical thinking through classes offered by NAIOMT (the Northern American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy). He has taken several classes and is pursuing his certification as a level 3 Orthopedic Manual Therapist. In his practice Andrew brings to bear hes experiential knowledge of dancing, Trager and Pilates, making him a keen observer of posture, gait, movement and muscular recruitment patterning.Our Team
